History of Gino's

For 30 years now Gino's has been a fixture in the small town of Latrobe, PA, first for great pizza and then for excellent pasta dishes and a lot of other simple but delicious home cooked food. That is after all where our recipes come from.

Our mother Theresa Giannilli or "Mrs. G." as she was affectionately known to our employees, the delivery people coming and going every day and our loyal customers who got to know the little dynamo standing in front of the stove stirring sauce or preparing lasagna.

Mom was used to cooking for a crowd. She did it every day for our family of 10 and anyone who might happen to drop in at suppertime. Friday night was always pizza, made from scratch just like everything she cooked. Even the pizza sauce was her own recipe.

Since the 1st day that we opened our doors in July 1979 at our first location, just across the street from where we are located today at 200 Thompson St. Latrobe, PA, we have lovingly prepared those very same recipes along with the numerous other dishes that our mother created.

At Gino's we pride ourselves on the fact that we have always used the same highest quality ingredients from the flour and the tomato products to Grande cheese, which in the pizza industry is the Gold Standard.

So whether you stop in to eat in our casual dining room, pick up or have your meal delivered right to your door our goal is making sure that you are happy with the entire experience and can't wait to do it again.

At Gino's we don't employ fancy chefs because we don't serve fancy food, just good cooks who make great food just like "Mrs. G.".
